1967 Mustang T-5 Fastback German export
This car is a very rare T-5 export model that was sent overseas to West Germany
right after it was built at the Metuchen, New Jersey assembly plant
(check out www.fordt5.com for more background info on T-5s).
The original owner was a U.S. Army Lieutenant.
Only 154, '67 T-5 fastbacks were produced
(out of more than 470,000 '67 Mustangs made overall)
and one question to consider is how many of those 154 are left?
Options on this car in addition to the C-code 289 two-barrel engine
and four-speed trans are a fold-down rear seat, heavy-duty suspension
and an AM radio, which still works.
The manual steering works perfectly.
Note also this cars original export brace that has always been in place
and is another reason why this Mustang is such a solid example.
The original "T-5" emblem is still in place above the glove box
and the "T5" inserts on the front fenders that I recently installed
in the cars original emblems are new factory Ford NOS pieces,
as the original ones fell out.
Of course, there are no "Mustang" emblems on the car.
Though the original front-grille corral and bars arent on the car in the photos,
I still have them and they can be easily reinstalled.
Besides all of the above, this car is an outstanding
and very original '67 fastback in its own right.
First of all, the body is laser straight--every panel is absolutely virgin.
The car has never been hit and theres simply no bodywork to be found.
The floor pans are perfect: there is no rust on this car anywhere.
It isnt possible for an unrestored vintage Mustang to be any straighter than this one.
This car is a fantastic survivor in every sense of the word, because the original owner
never crashed it, never put any stupid parts on it and never beat on it in 40 years.
He simply drove it and maintained it the way we wish all these cars were cared for.
