A California car, 1968 Corvette Convertible, this is a project Car, 427/435hp Tripower, M21, 4-spd, K66, Transistor ignition, F41 Special Suspension, N11 Off Road Exhaust, G81 3.70 ratio, U69 Am-fm radio, C08 Hardtop Vinyl and a white soft top, A02 Tinted windshield, glass code of ix xx nx xx, Lemans Blue with Medium Blue interior, Trim tag-976-414-I09, April 9 1968. Again this project car, and has no motor or Trans. A lady in the San Fernando Valley owned the car throughout the 70’s 80’s: The Title is still in her name. It has not run since the early 1980’s. The Original motor and transmission are long gone: she had a 454 in it for many years. The car was modified to look like a 1973 early in its life and was painted dark blue. The rear wheel wells are flared and the front bumper was converted to a 73 style, very easy fix, only the front edges of the top surround panel and fenders were trimmed so the car still has the factory panels. This could easily be converted back to the original 68 bumper without replacing the fenders or the surround panel. Except for this and the rear fender flares, this is a very original body with all factory bond strips in tact. The car had not been in any major accidents, but was bumped lightly in the back driver’s side corner after she spun out in a rain storm, after that she parked it and never drove it again. She sold it to a person in Los Angeles in 1994 who was planning a full restoration but never got around to starting, so it just stayed in storage the last 15 years. The car does have the Tank Sticker, and all of the options can be made out from the pieces of the sticker. The tank sticker is fragmented with pieces deteriorated away but the important parts are still legible. The odometer shows 56,834. The front brakes rotors have never been off the car and the calipers look to be the originals. The rear end is not original: most of the car is there, but plan on a complete restoration.
