1968 Mercedes Benz 280 SL
This Mercedes was purchased by an Older Raleigh couple in 1973 or 1974. I purchased from the lady after her husband died in 1999. I had the car painted in the fall of 1999. There has not been 1000 miles put on the car since that time. Only used in a few parades.
The paint looks good-Yellow and brown. Mechanical condition very strong- new mufflers, tune-up, new fuel pump and line last fall, new brake pads. Automatic trans. Motor runs good , Top has been replaced not with fabric but with vinyl of top quality and is in good condition. Hard top is in good condition but needs good cleaning, Seats have some wear with some small seam 1-2 inches needing repair. Biggest problem will show in the pictures. Rust with a 1-2 inch paint bubble under the windshield on driver side with some rust in driver floorboard. Small amount of rust on front bumper and limited rust on bottom panel under rear bumper. Outside rail good but inside could use some repair.
This is not a car which has been re-conditioned but one which has been well cared for during the last 40 years.
