EARLY 20TH CENTURY STUDENT VIOLIN FOR RESTORATION
COPY OF ANTONIUS STRADEVARIUS (MADE IN GERMANY)
This auction is for this early 20th Century student violin for restoration. The original red varnish is in very good shape. The paper tag inside says Copy Of Antonius Stradivarius (Made in Germany). Let me say that I know absolutely nothing about violins and this violin has been at my parents home for many years and has acted as a unique conversation piece. The body looks to be in decent shape, nice S holes, with no major damage to the body other than nicks, some superficial scratches and a couple of superficial hairlines to the front of the violin (See Pics). Of course it is missing the bridge, strings, and fingerboard etc. The back of the violin is in very good shape with some minute superficial scratches and nicks (see pics). I measured it at approximately 23 ˝” long: 1 ˝” depth and 8”Wide at its widest point. I do not know if this is a full sized or smaller violin. This instrument is being sold “as is”.
