First, let me say we are NOT anti bottled water activists. We really do not care where the water is bottled or what the water in the bottled is. We care for the people in need during a disaster and the impact of the bottle itself on the environment. We care about the waste and money being spent to clean up the massive amount of plastic bottles this country faces every day, but specifically after a disaster.

In short, I have been trying for almost a year to get FEMA, some local governments and organizations to consider an idea I feel is a real issue not only for disaster stricken areas, but a small but important resolution to a big problem.

Shortly after Hurricane Katrina, I relocated to the New Orleans area to assist in the recovery effort. I worked as a construction manager rebuilding business and lives. But one thing that really stood out during my stay in the area was the waste and impact of Bottled Water being supplied by FEMA and other organizations. The need for water to victims was badly needed, but the method in which it was provided was concerning to me.
I have been in business for many years and provided services to water and waste water industry. I understand the operation and methodology of treating water. I designed a method of utilizing the one thing was in abundance during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Water!

I lieu of supplying millions of bottles filled with what was already available and impacting a disaster area with more environmental waste on top of an already impacted waste and debris filled area. I designed a system that would provide potable water in bulk, along with the use of reusable containers that could provide what disaster victims need first….Potable Water!

My wife and I are not a wealthy people, and if I could fund this project, we would have already built it. As I stated, I approached FEMA, and other organizations like the Red Cross, and others, and received no usable response. So I decided to approach private interest, business and organizations like yours and try to spark interest in investments hoping the public and business would see the need for such a project. We are not just looking for monetary investments, but looking to equipment manufacturers and suppliers, companies that supply the water treatment industry and companies that can help at the component level, and have a desire to have their name on a worthwhile project as a concerned part of a solution.

Attached is a .pdf file that outlines the project. Also you can see the web page at:

......

This project would not only help disaster area victims during flood, but as I state in the presentation, it has several other practical application, and could help stop the insane introduction of waste all disaster areas have too much of.

The purpose of this inquire is to spark interest and we are looking for investors, but not necessarily financial. We also need equipment as well. Suppliers and manufacturers interested enough in this project would also have their products listed on our web-site and have their names clearly illustrated on the equipment as a company that cares about people and the environment.

We are start to get responses from concerned people that see the need and viable business since this project has, and we would love to add your name to our list of contributors. Please take time to look and the attached proposal, and your feedback would be appreciated.

As my wife stated, “Good Intentions should not produce future problems!”

Thank you for your consideration,

James and Elaine
