I have a full blood Cocker Spaniel. He is a rescue dog that was scheduled to be put down when I got him. Guessing...I would say he is about 2-3 years old. He is crate trained. This is one LOVEABLE, BEAUTIFUL dog!!! When he was found, he was covered in very large and heavy mats and therefore had to be completely shaved. He still looks gorgeous, but when his hair grows back he will be AMAZING! If you were to adopt "Cowboy" I would do his grooming for FREE for the rest of his life, by appt only. Yes FREE! This is why...Cowboy has tested positive for heartworms. He has no signs of them in the way that he acts and is VERY energetic. Heartworm treatment at a vet costs around 400.00, although there is an alternative method of treatment that costs less than 50.00. I can explain this to you IF you are interested. Cowboy hasnt had any of his shots, and he has "cherry eye" which is where his tear ducts have stopped up. This is NOT contageous to other animasls and is also treatable. However...some never treat this, and the dog is fine. It doesnt hurt them at all. Cowboy desperately needs a home. Please remember...although he has tested positive for heartworms, he could live years without treatment before ever needing medical attention. ALTHOUGH it better to treat in some way...his life would have been alot shorter had he not have been rescued, and so...no matter what happens, treatment or none...he will have had a longer, better life with someone to love him!!! If you agree and can give him a loving home...Call Shelly at LuVin U'r Pets in Cleburne at 817-645-0552 or 817-681-0253. WILL SEND PICS IF INTERESTED!
