Here is something fresh for the tattoo community - FREE TATTOO DESIGNS.
In this day of tattoo membership sites popping up all over the internet, I thought it about time we had a free service. Tattoo designs are being searched on Google, MSN and Yahoo so often that every man and his dog are starting up tattoo membership sites to rake in a few dollars from you poor tattoo lovers.
Well screw 'em. I have put together a totally free ( no log-in required ) tattoo site that currently displays almost 7,000 designs in 92 categories. That site is Tattoo-Choice.com ( don't forget to put in the hyphen ). This site gives you free access to some awesome designs that should get your creative juices flowing. I say 'creative juices' because, while anyone can download and simply copy these designs, the smart ones among you will use these designs as a stepping stone to designing a tattoo that is as individual as you are.
If you think I am talking through my hat then perhaps you should know a little bit about me. For a full bio you should read the about me page at AussieSmutly.com but here is the abridged version. I am 50 yrs old and well known in the Geelong and Central Victoria area as a qualified and competent tattoo designer and tattoo artist.
Most of my 25 years in the business has been designing tattoos and selling sets to shops in Geelong , Melbourne, Ballarat and Bendigo. I laid my first tattoo in 1984. I did not do a formal apprenticeship, which I regret, but did spend many hours watching and learning from several professionals before buying a kit from the USA ( another mistake ). After 18 months working with rattling machines, caused by running them through a transformer, I upgraded to Australian equipment and moved ahead in leaps and bounds. After several years of working some ridiculous hours I returned to the design aspect of tattoos, which I still do to this day.
My website at AussieSmutly.com is dedicated to the design side of the game and there you will find resources like ebook guides to designing tattoos for yourself or for commercial sales, as well as templates and advice to keep you on track. This site is also free access but I have needed to remove the "call me if you need help" section due to an abundance of requests. I apologize to any patrons who were let-down or disappointed by me doing this but I was inundated by several large jobs and more than 30 smaller ones in the space of 3 or 4 days. I could not possibly cope with all these requests and chose to pull up before the list of disappointed customers grew too large.
I have, instead, written a detailed ebook explaining how anybody with a computer and any version of Photoshop can turn any image that appeals to them into a tattoo that will appeal to them even more. You do not need to only look at tattoo designs to get inspiration. A photograph of a flower can be turned into a truly beautiful tattoo by following the 5 or 6 simple steps described in the book. There are pictures and templates - I have made it dead easy. AND I typed it slowly for those of you who can't read very fast. So you see I have you all covered.
