For Sale - one German-made Roman Teller (copy) violin, 1990, Giegenbaumeister, Erlangen, W. Germany, model No. MAIa, in prestine condition!!
It has a rosewood chinrest, rosewood with mother of pearl parisian eye tailpiece, rosewood pegs, and a set of Eva Pirazzi strings on it. The back is double-paneled with wide tiger stripes in the wood, lending for a broader tone quality, and the varnish is a beautiful medium golden.
I am the second owner of this beautiful instrument and have played on it as my solo violin since 2002.
This violin is great for an advanced player - high school or college. Like most German makes, this violin has a warm, sweet tone that resonates through the concert halls. It sounds especially rich in the upper violin registers, espcially sul D & G! The Eva Pirazzi strings give it a vibrant tone that mixes with the richness so that the sound carries through the concert hall for solos, ensembles or chamber performances, as I played on it for several performances with a symphony orchestra and chamber music group.
I had it appraised by a certified appraiser and can verify its value. Please contanct me if you would like to see a copy of this. Also, additional photos can be sent upon request.
I recently took it to a Luthier in town to see if it needs any repairs. He said that it has had NO repairs in its life-time and that it is in outstanding condition. There is a very small cosmetic scratch on the varnish near the "F" hole from using a dampit and a tiny line scratch on the other "F" hole side, but these do not alter its sound or value and would be an easy cosmetic fix. Otherwise, there are absolutely no other dings or scratches on it! It's a beautiful color!
The violin is being sold "as is" with no returns.
It is ready to play and maintains its string intonation well! As a violin teacher and professional, I can vouch that this instrument will make an aspiring musician sound phenomenal! Please call or email if you have any other questions!
Thank you!
