Marko Van Basten is a gorgeous 7 month old male German Shepherd who comes from an all german bloodline. I have had him for the last 5 moths and picked him up when he was 10 weeks old. I grew up with German Shepherds and anyone who owned a dog of this breed knows what wonderful dogs they are. I am very attached to Marko and the only reason I am considering giving him up is because currenly I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and my consulting job keeps me very busy to have time for him, which I feel is not fair to Marko. I am also in the process of moving out to Los Angeles where it would be almost impossible to keep a dog of this size and activity level in an apartment.
Following are some details about Marko:
- 7 months old
-current on all shots
- no current health issues
-raised on Royal Canin diet and natural / raw treats only
- 60 pounds and to grow (breed standard for an adult male is no larger than 90)
- rare black face with rich dark and red coloring (he gets a lot of attention)
- knows basic commands like sit, off, stay, etc.
- very friendly with other dogs and kids (he is well socialized as I take him to the dog park and pet stores often)
-loves car rides
- loves to play fetch and tug
- the only thing I have not had time to teach is heal but this is something that usually comes with age
Although I paid a premium when I bought the dog, I am not looking to make money. I only ask the following:
1. I should be allowed to inspect the household of the potential new owner to determine if he/she would be suitable for the dog.
2. New owner has to sign a basic agreement saying that he/she a. will not get Mark neutered b. will not put him in a shelter and c. will be responsible for his basic needs (e.g. food, shelter, healthcare, etc)
Lastly, I would like to add that I would only consider individuals who have a genuine interest in having a dog with such intelligence and ability.
