Only train your cat for one thing at a time. Let him master one trick before moving to another. Otherwise he will become overwhelmed.
So yes, it is possible. Cats can be trained to do just about anything you like, so long as it's natural behavior to them. If you keep this in mind, training your cat will be a piece of cake.
