Greeting I am a truck driver with over ten years of local regional and OTR experience due to a misunderstanding between Child Support agency's Mississippi and Illinois my career was interrupted, neither wants to own up to the mistake that cost me years and put me on the verge of being homeless. June of 2004 started out as a good month I had just received a raise in income was awarded the safe driver of the year award but where there is sunshine there are clouds on that same day not only came good news but I had no idea that my world was being turned upside down by a terrible mistake or one big lie that went on record and put my son in the system when I was supporting her my son and her daughter on that day in June after the good news then came the bad, My Grandmother passed that morning, the company was in the process of finding me freight going to Chicago, I was in a truck stop in Ohio when I was told my license were suspended but gave no reason I knew it was not moving violations,I did not have any it wasn't till I was home in Mississippi that I found out that Mississippi had put a stop on my CDL at which time I held Mississippi license. I tried to contact the Mississippi Department of Child Support Enforcement, they acted like the didn't know what I was talking about they gave me the run a round til the day I left Mississippi, July 2005 I had received a eviction notice when my Mother called a neighbor across the street caused I could not be reached my phone service was terminated my neighbor informed me my mother was on the phone, I took the call my Mother told me she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and she need me to come home and care for her,she purchased a ticket on Grey Hound and I left July 4th 2005. I cared for her and watched her health deteriorate as the days went by,the doctors had given her one year but she held on till September 2008 leaving me with enough to take care of her burial and other expenses late October 2008 I bought a computer and went online and a whole new world of information opened up to me I started emailing every government agency that I could think of that participated in Child Support enforcement I must have reached the right one in April 2009 I received a email with a email address to contact I replied and was given a telephone number which I called and stated my case. May 2009 I received a letter from Mississippi stating that my driving privilege had been reinstated, I called Illinois Secretary of State amd asked what was the process of applying for my Illinois CDL license, I followed the direction, surrendered my expired Mississippi CDL license and applied for Illinois. I have taken and passed the written CDL test but I did not have access to a combination vehicle to complete the test, I need help to complete the test and a job if any one can find it in there heart to help me am will to pay for assistance with combination vehicle thank you for you time. | | | | |
