In these directed lessons students will learn the techniques to paint on silk. Paint yourself a customized jacket or blouse. Quilters! design your special quilt blocks there is no limit to the beautiful things you can design and make in silk!!
A variety of resist techniques will be taught. Silk paints and natural dyes will be used to make colorful designs and patterns. Participants will also practice the use of salt and alcohol techniques to enhance the silk paintings.
Your instructor is skilled in the production of fabrics techniques that include Japanese stenciling (katazome), shibori, block printing,dye discharge dyeing and dye painting.
