Solid Silver Cream Pail and Matching Spoon. This is a superb Solid Silver Cream Pail and Matching Spoon which both carry the same hallmarks. This lovely decorative cream pail has a shaped body with pierced floral motifs which is very attractive, and it comes complete with its blue glass liner, which is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The matching solid silver spoon is a lovely item in its own right and has a deep circular bowl and a very attractive spreading scroll shaped finial to the handle.
ASSAY OFFICE: BIRMINGHAM
DATE: 1930
MAKERS MARKS: Charles Boyton & Son
DIMENSIONS: The pail measures 4.5 inches tall with the handle in the upright position and 2.75 inches tall with the handle flat. It is 2.75 inches wide at its widest middle point and the diameter of the top opening is just over 2.5 inches. The spoon measures 4 inches long and the bowl is 1.5 inches in diameter
CONDITION: Both are in lovely condition
REMARKS: This really is a pretry item and although I have described it as a cream pail which would have been its original use it could be used as a sugar bowl, a dish for serving sauces, pickles, jams, dips etc. A quality piece and not to be missed
