Condition:
This flute plays well. It has been adjusted by our technician, and may need to be adjusted again when you receive it and break it in.
Cosmetic issues:
There is a very small area in the sterling silver headjoint that is dark in color. This is the brass "strike" placed over the sterling headjoint by Trevor James, and does not seem worth replating (yes, it is a sterling silver headjoint and is marked .925 sterling). It in no way effets the sound or integrity of this instrument. There are also a few small difficult to notice imperfections in the headjoint.
Trevor James places a brass strike over the sterling silver headjoint and then replates the headjoint. This makes the headjoint stonger, and and able to withstand most dings and dents. Many flute Companies replate over silver or sterling, so to perfect the overall color and appearance, enhance the durability, and minimize tarnish.
This flute has a small crack in the B foot tenon on the underside of the flute. This in no way effects the play or the way the pieces mate. It can be fixed via solder, but as it does not effect the mechanical structure of the flute, it is not necessary to repair this area.
